YCF Endowed Funds: Eligible to participate.

YCF Non-Endowed Funds: Can participate if they intend to build an endowment. YCF requires a minimum balance of $10,000 for endowment. Non-endowed funds can use this match event to reach that minimum balance.

Your Community Foundation hosted its first-ever match event on the day of giving, November 28th, 2023. With the help of donors within the community, we were able to raise around $79,000. In addition, we received the Patterson Family Foundation grant giving us a matching pool of $70,000. We received the full benefit from the grant, which allowed our fundholders' endowed funds to be increased by a total amount of $149,000.

Match day is a fundraising campaign for local non-profits to increase their endowed funds holdings at the community foundation. All donations received on match day go directly into the organization’s endowed funds. Your Community Foundation provides a proportional match for each non-profit which will also added to their endowment. The match amount is determined by the proportion of total community contributions received. All donations are matched up to $70,000, we do not have a cap on how much an organization can earn from the match pool.

This year we are fortunate to once again receive the Patterson Family Foundation grant, providing us with a matching pool of $70,000. Our matching event for 2024 will be a month long period between November 15th and December 15th. 

To qualify for the match all donations must be collected during the time between November 15th and December 15th. All contributions are accepted and tax-deductible.

Building an endowment is a crucial growth strategy for the future of any organization. Endowed funds are invested, allowing for continuous growth over time. A portion of the interest can be withdrawn annually through grant-making, enabling non-profits and other organizations to fund their expenses and projects. Due to compound interest, the amount available for grant-making grows each year. Our match dollars, given during our matching event help to grow the principle in each fund, accelerating the compound interest process.
